Abongile has 10 years’ experience in the actuarial (traditional and non-traditional) industry having worked at two of the largest actuarial consulting firms, 2 of the largest local insurers (one of which is listed on the JSE) and later co-founded his own actuarial consulting firm. Abongile has worked with clients who are insurance companies, microinsurance companies, start-ups companies, Cooperatives, mutual banks and National energy regulators in South Africa and Rest of Africa.
He has experience in the product design and pricing, product development (insurance and non-insurance products), financial modelling (actuarial and non-actuarial), data analyses, actuarial valuation, and capital management. He has been the secretary and a member of various internal senior company committees, has made various presentations and training on actuarial matters to senior management and Boards and has managed and headed up various teams.
He has a passion for finding and articulating solutions to complex problems, growing businesses andgetting the most out of the people he leads.
